Loved the post. Thanks for writing it (code & text). How would you model the effect of media? I guess in media’s case there might be edges skipping neighbor-connectivity rules? Wonder if we could look at partisan politics through a similar lens? How do tribal identities develop?
"effect of media" — I spent a little while thinking about that, but didn't come up with much. I think you could model it as a node that's permanently activated (once you write a book, it lives forever), but whose transmission decays over time. Maybe!
