Seems like a fundamentally shitty trade off compared to inventing new technologies. It’s a giant gamble on gaining political power that may never pay off while fighting against tons of smart people doing the same thing instead of a collaborative iterative project
We have a government system that’s currently predicated on a lack of sovereign power. This prevents a lot of top-down abuses but also prevents changing the system for the better
