Generally speaking, whom do you admire more: the person who initially conceives an invention, or the person who perfects it?

What I find especially interesting is that whole cultures can skew to one side or the other. E.g., the ancient Greeks had more respect for ideators, whereas the Romans admired perfecters. See also academia vs. industry.

Ideators = hedgehogs (understand one new concept well enough to prove it out) Perfectors = foxes (understand all the contextual factors that make the proof of concept janky)
