Generally speaking, whom do you admire more: the person who initially conceives an invention, or the person who perfects it?

What I find especially interesting is that whole cultures can skew to one side or the other. E.g., the ancient Greeks had more respect for ideators, whereas the Romans admired perfecters. See also academia vs. industry.

I actually admire the other side more, perhaps because it is so hard for me that it seems magical and I know how the sausage is made on my side of the street?

strong agree. I don’t have any of the discipline required to be a perfecter, which is maybe why it’s so impressive
