It was like reading a textbook - not so interesting in the first few episodes. *shrug*. I prefer Dan Carlin's narration.

Yep. History of Rome podcast is far too linear and monotone. Dan Carlin, on the other hand, brings forth his enthusiasm with some fun detours and maintains the context.
