Also pop psych books are an established genre, whereas Age of Em was a more novel and interesting premise for a book (IMO), which makes it more interesting to write about.
To my mind, Elephant in the Brain has just as much an original contribution to the psych related lit as Age of Em does the the futurism lit. But perhaps that is harder to tell from a cursory glance at it.
When I explain EitB to my friends, they think it is part of the established pop psych genre, and so they are more willing to read it. Age of Em is not part of a genre that they've read much of. And like you said, Age of Em is part of 𝒜ℐ, which feels more news-worthy.
