Interesting, curious why physics sells more than chemistry.https://twitter.com/curiouswavefn/status/1106992475049082881 …

The difference between popular physics and popular chemistry: From Half Price Books in Redmond, WA which I visited over the weekend. In this world popular physics books are popular physics books. Meanwhile, popular chemistry books are just textbooks. pic.twitter.com/DUkkgA60Kx

Physics provides some sense of meaning and deeper understanding of the fundamentals of reality that chemistry does not

Seconded. Both physics and biology give me the feeling of numinous beauty; chemistry is just the mundane middleware.

Chemistry is underrated as pop science! It's the link between the exotic world of atoms and our everyday experience; it's what explains why common, familiar substances behave the way they do. Maybe better use of cool graphics and animation is what's missing.

tbh i think everything is interesting once you get your mind into it. but (earnest q) does chemistry appeal to you as strongly as the other two? of course, as my philosophy mentor was fond of saying, “de gustibus non est disputandum.”

Good question. I guess it's underestimated even by me, as I've read a lot of physics and biology stuff but not really any chemistry as such. I guess it's hard to sell exactly because it deals with the ordinary. Nothing mind-bending like black holes, relativity or evolution.
