I use that sometimes too, but I want text-to-speech most often for longform stuff (helps me keep focus even if I look away for 10 seconds). The macOS shortcut requires I highlight and play. No pause. No easy speed change. No rewind 30 seconds.
oh I didn’t realize Pocket has those features. I struggle with the OS X built-in for those reasons as well

Yeah. They removed word highlighting recently, but I think some other features got better. The audio is good enough that I can archive a dozen articles or so and go for a run. Pretty great, although I still think it could be significantly improved for even higher impact
