First, I respect that. Second, I think that politics has a different model for knowledge. I believe "truth" in politics is a moving synthesis of opinions. You don't have to be right. You just share your vantage point. That's probably too idealistic, but that's how I think of it.
Yeah I wasn’t making an argument that one shouldn’t engage in politics. Just that one should do it with a lot of epistemic humility.

Wise words. Problem is, doesn't humility necessarily affect how one engages? (beyond voting - engagement via, say, twitter) And most reasonable people are most likely to embrace humility, and thus engage less - causing most overconfident/delusional to have greater impacts?

Hmm, yes. That's a great point. I wrestle with the concept of epistemic humility. How much of my life is training data, and what does the shift away from training mode look like? Thanks for giving me something to reflect on today.
