Which celebrity’s death during your lifetime affected you the most? Optional but encouraged: Why?

I don’t have a real good answer here, tbh. Closest is probably Kurt Cobain, and I didn’t really get into his music until after his death.

Both of my biggest ones were ex post facto - Hubert Dreyfus and Donella Meadows. Both of them wrote things I read that were super influential, then I looked them and discovered they’d died shortly prior.

Ex post facto mourning for me: Anthony Bourdain. Did not watch nor care before. Read an editorial abt him after, realised he preferred Vietnamese noodles in the street gutter, knew him then as a master observer. Weirdly started mourning.
