Not really. I think it's down to UK focus. The government doesn't priorities them at trade talks. Slovenia has £2b in trade of steel the Wales only 980million....tells a lot and that is 17% of the UKs total export

China outstrips everyone. It produces more steel than India, Japan, USA, Germany, Russia and South Korea combined. The UK is a minnow at about 25th in the world. The idea that we can compete is nonsense. Strategic nationalisation should be our option or even a cooperative model.
