Honest opinion. I would much prefer to see this £64m spent in schools. Many children were failing in pre-pandemic and we know that many will also never see the inside of a University. Tackling poverty should be the focus of public policy in Wales.https://bit.ly/39cIdQz

I worked in FE in the valleys the need to broaden horizons was vital. Many learners lacked the confidence to pursue jobs or placements in Cardiff or Newport, so anything that allows them to gain wider perspectives are key. Wales needs to be globally relevant and aware - 2 of 2

Kev -I get this but Wales needs to be more internally aware of the poverty in our communities. We have had schemes including a recent Valleys taskforce that died because as the ex-Minister stated it had "virtually no budget". Tough choices ahead and core services must be key.
