It's not popularity that determines the results, it is how well parties enthuse their base to turn up. If Yes Cymru or Plaid Cymru can boost the Indy turnout in demographics that pollsters think won't turn up then Labour will struggle.

Labour may not think it but a coalition with plaid may focus them away from Westminster and more towards independence and actual make a case for welsh independence especially if plaid surge at the next election. This I think would help Labour support base in the long run
