Probably because the risk was his to take & he would make his own decision based on his own personal risk assessment. They travelled on Dec 11th before the travel ban & abided by the Barbados quarantine rules!

His risk though, and there is no evidence that his pneumonia came from his trip, which was some time ago. If you’ve lived to be 100 & your offered a trip of a lifetime, why wouldn’t you. I can’t imagine that there wasn’t a strong ring of precaution around him

I can’t comment on the latter point but not convinced I’d visit an airport, get on a plane, get in a taxi /bus, stay at a hotel, or go anywhere non-essential at the moment. The risk of the virus is far too risky at any age. I would never have taken an elderly relative there

Neither would I Kevin, but that is our own personal decision re risk. Plus if I told my Dad he couldn’t do something, I know how that would end up, because he has full capacity and can make his own decisions, having balanced his own risk

That’s a fair point. But back to my original tweet - sky news should have mentioned it as part of the story in my view. It’s relevant. As I said I wish him well as he’s achieved so much on his life. A role model for all in so many ways
