I don't think he starves his kids. Poor parenting does that.

With views like that you should be in UKIP not the LibDems. You are someone who describes yourself as a centrist but with far right ideals. Do you not understand 10 years of austerity and benefit reforms has made victims of millions of parents and kids? Get real will you

I lost my job due to the lockdown. Yes I can feed my 2 children on £20k benefits (UC) and so can anyone else in my position. I am a centrist and a remainer and the Lib Dems were part of that austerity government, and Labour even proposed harsher austerity.

Good for you, but you're projecting yourself and circumstances onto others, making a mistaken assumption.

Exactly. Many with chaotic lifestyles (not through choice) can’t survive - and add to the mix for some with mental health challenges, substance addictions, lack of role models, historical debts, appalling housing, etc. - and so why should their children suffer?

It's a crappy situation. The government should let parents go back to work so they can put food on the table. Failing that give parents the money. However if you give drug addicts £50, they aren't spending it on nappies, aptamil, fruit and veg, are they?

It's indeed crappy, for everyone, especially those who are at present infected, and the relatives of 100,000 dead. Addiction is yet another can of worms, where finger pointing rarely works.

We lose over 500,000 people a year from illnesses. Nobody cares about them, only the ones they can use for political point scoring. We also know that about ⅓ of those deaths were due to lockdown and not the virus. Lockdown hasn't worked and it's only exacerbated poverty.

Tom I think you’d better look in the mirror or go back to reading the Daily Mail.
