The Labour Party was formed by the trade unions, but sadly there had been a growing distance between the party and the Unions , too many career politicians from more affluent backgrounds with a different view of socialism

The Commons was the debating chamber for commoners, how that has changed and ceased to be a people’s parliament, who would have thought the Labour Party would be led by a Sir, certainly not working class or representative of our population

The elites now dominate it - many of those in Atlee’s govt had done proper jobs and were active trade unionists before the landslide victory
