Jeremy Corbyn’s approach really rattled so many in the British establishment. Even though he now sits an independent backbencher he lives on in their minds - and they can’t let him and his values gohttps://twitter.com/JohnRentoul/status/1344213999555141632 …

Very true. But frankly the ERG, Johnson and Cummings have equally rattled much of the establishment. But they achieved this massive shake up by being politically very savvy. Which is what we need to do now. (Yes this is an advertisement for the get behind Starmer party !)

It will be interesting to see how many Labour MPs rebel toddy. I certainly wouldn’t vote for this crock of sh*t of an agreement

Is it wrong to simultaneously think that Starmer did the right thing to whip in favour and Corbyn and the others did the right thing by voting against ?

A dilemma. I’ve think I’ve been rightly critical of abstentions in key debates, so I think in the interests of GE 2024 he should have voted against. Labour aren’t going to win back hard brexiteers by voting for it. It’s a complete and utter mess. Hope you had a good Christmas

I did, thank you. You too. He's not aiming for the Hard Brexiteers. He's aiming at people like my parents who just said Parliament was playing games, they should all get on with it and move on to other topics. And I think there's plenty like them.
