Watched it again last night. I have " The Boys from the Black Stuff" set on dvd. Like "Cathy Come Home", it's heartbreaking to see that after so many years, as Blackadder said, "We've advanced no further than an asthmatic ant with some heavy shopping."

I remember watching that on TV - Yosser saying “Gis a job” is the stand out moment for me.

"George's Last Ride" George Malone in his wheelchair, being pushed past the "sightless windows" of Liverpool docks by Chrissy. The funeral, where Chrissy stands up and delivers George's real eulogy. The descent into Chaos in the pub, with Yosser and "Shake Hands"...... Brilliant.

They were all so good in the series. I loved Jean Heywood, as George's wife, recalling her father's March from Jarrow then snatching away her sons' pudding as though they were children "There'll be no defeatist talk at my table!" Magnificent acting.
