It has to be in order to ensure execution otherwise you would have loose canons everywhere spouting their own agendas. They may have valid points but that's not your strategy !!

In membership of course, society has been shifted to the right Starmer needs to position LP as centrist but with room for the left in govt. For now he needs to position to beat the Tories and that means getting everyone aligned and stopping leaks in political equity

I think you mean society in England. Both Wales and Scotland have a majority who are progressive. This will drive more Labour members in Wales to support independence and eventually break from UK Labour. In the interim more in Welsh Labour are pushing for autonomy from London

This has implications for Starmers strategy, he needs to position to grant further referendums and to form a strategic alliance with SNP whilst assuring Welsh Labour of future autonomy. Independence under the EU umbrella would be beneficial to Scotland and Wales in the long term.

Labour’s biggest problem is that the party’s MPs from Scotland &Wales tempered the excesses of England. Jim Murphy’s shocking reign as a unionist Scottish Labour leader effectively finished the party north of the border. I can’t see a way back. Welsh Labour must avoid that trap

There is away back by strategic positioning! Labour positions for independence for each under the EU with each granted a referendum under a LP govt. Starmer forms a strategic alliance with SNP, SNLP. Repeat in Wales, WNLP. Both populations would see an exciting future in the EU.

We could then move to a very loose federal UK, with power residing in each state. A new structure in England would also be beneficial with power devolved to regional assemblies. Centralised decision making in London is currently beyond shambolic and not fit for purpose.

Breaking up England is key to effective federalism - one element with 80% of the population can’t work

Agree, though the new establishment and Tories want centralised power and control, oligarchy, to enrich each other. Socialism is only way forward, one step at a time.
