Agree, we are seeing division & polarisation on a number of fronts, conservative versus progressives, union versus independence/EU, white exceptionalism/supremacy versus multiculturalism. Also agree about independence being the desired outcomes for Wales & Scotland populations.

This has implications for Starmers strategy, he needs to position to grant further referendums and to form a strategic alliance with SNP whilst assuring Welsh Labour of future autonomy. Independence under the EU umbrella would be beneficial to Scotland and Wales in the long term.

Labour’s biggest problem is that the party’s MPs from Scotland &Wales tempered the excesses of England. Jim Murphy’s shocking reign as a unionist Scottish Labour leader effectively finished the party north of the border. I can’t see a way back. Welsh Labour must avoid that trap
