Germany is in on a form of national lockdown from Monday (thanks for correction x) - on 81 deaths yesterday. Anyone else feeling a bit nervous for England?

We will have to wait until Johnson gets back from his holibobs before anything remotely helpful happens

Johnson has backed himself into a corner. He ridiculed /attacked the First Minister of Wales for implementing a national FireBreak (a limited scope lockdown) this week and can’t be seen to admit he was wrong. France and Germany are now following Wales - and maybe Switzerland next

My grandparents lived in Wales. I wish I was young enough to live there rather here, under Tory dominance

It's shit here at the moment. Like Soviet Russia. Grim, dead.

It’s not like soviet Russia. Shops are open for all essential goods - there are no shortages and people are being sensible wearing masks and socially distancing. Anyone who can work from home is. The Welsh NHS has 71% of the COVID patients as it did in April and needs help now

Empty streets, empty shops, empty everything. Everything shut down. Many permanently. People on their own, twenty yards or more from another living soul, wearing masks. Grim and mad.

It’s grim for only 17 days. I would like an ICU bed if I catch COVID19 and this is trying to ensure hospitals aren’t swamped. As a socialist I’m happy to make sacrifices for the greater good. I don’t want to wear a mask and I want to cwtch my sister but it’s a price worth paying
