As far as I know it is an association rather than cause and effect at the moment. Although vit D is known to be essential for immunity.

When bro was seriously ill with complications similar to those covid causes his vit d levels were virtually none existent. After his conditions were eventually controlled by meds, his vit d & other deranged blood results returned to normal so I would say it's caused by the virus
