It is recommended that vit D 400 iu / day is taken as a supplement. At this smallish dose it is unlikely to do any harm.

When bro was seriously ill with complications similar to those covid causes his vit d levels were virtually none existent. After his conditions were eventually controlled by meds, his vit d & other deranged blood results returned to normal so I would say it's caused by the virus

Not enough sun in the UK there and there only traces elements of Vit D in some fish so the only way to get enough Vit D is to take supplements, Vit D is not a vitamin it is a hormone

I spend hours out of doors but have been advised to take a supplement between October and March as in the UK sunlight is too weak in that period.
