Many people speak a sort of merged language, my kids flick effortlessly between words in Welsh & English. Even the odd French, German, Greek and Latin expression. Is not that they change into Welsh to be rude, people pick up the odd English word & make assumptions.

On a bus in Newport a proper idiot got up and stood over two Indian looking women chattering away. He started yelling various obsenities and how they should go back home. The younger girl said "rwy'n dod o Ponty, chi'n twat" as they carried on chattering in perfect Welsh.

PS this is not a joke, I was sat behind the women on the top deck and when a few of us laughed at the phrase, the plonker looked like he'd just wet himself and pegged it down the stairs, to a resounding echo of applause for Tan (I think that we her name).
