Not true in Wales - last election I was closely involved in, every local authority in Wales counted their own postal votes @ElectoralWales - can confirm I'm sure

Thats not true Kevin. They are verified as they come in by the Councils electoral services. Then counted with other votes at the count. The growth of postal votes shows the importance of targeting postal voters who often vote within days of receiving the ballot paper.

Actually this is correct. Sort of. They are counted by local electoral staff, but that's the last step on a long winded process, and the only part that actually involves local authority employees. Before this its privatised, along with plenty of opportunity to include fake votes.

To avoid being called a sore loosers no one questioned how on earth Boris got a 80 seat majority! It's fair enough that we had two previous elections with the Tories won but an 80 seat majority and not another coalition government^^ History will record it as a scam^^
