Any thoughts on the tweet below? It’s independence or bust for me. Federalism won’t work when Scotland is independent and NI rejoins the Republic and Tories are perpetually in charge in England. Too many mixed messages from within Labour on Brit Union and Welsh Autonomy.https://twitter.com/KevinPascoe/status/1310361091512455168 …

That’s good to hear, Kevin. I know Ben Gwalchmai and Huw Williams have worked their socks off over the last four years to break down barriers and get this on the Labour agenda.

Seriously I’ve been surprised that so many in the party have the ability to see a socialist Labour party can have a key role an an independent Wales. We are wedded to doing the best for the people of Wales regardless of governance structures. Things have changed

Its a tough sell for independence-minded Labour supporters Kevin. I understand that. The Labour Movement is massive & smaller groups that are out of tune with the ‘leadership’ tend to be easily shouted down.

Following independence there can’t be political parties directly linked to Westminster parties for pretty obvious reasons. Time for a new democratic socialist party in Wales?
