Greedy greedy universities. Fees were ridiculous - bleeding students dry. In Germany a degree is funded free. Had we done that in U.K. may be fees would have managed and extortionate senior managers ‘ salaries controlled when academic lecturers get little.https://twitter.com/ProfJuneG/status/1309499099893452806 …

Greedy universities?? No, immoral Tory government who doesn't want to enable the poorer in society to go to university. The greedy ones are the rich, Tory crowd who are all self and don't see / understand the benefits of building academic capacity throughout the country.

Sadly many university leaders are greedy - big salaries and entourages, loads of shiny new buildings to make them look important. Your point on govt is still however true

I must confess that I'm not knowledgeable enough on the subject to agree or disagree with you on this, but I do take issue with the view that universities charge extortionate fees because they're greedy. Govt funding of post-18 education has been annihilated under the Tories.

Interesting then that Cardiff had the largest number of heads of department earning over £100,000 - and that was a few years ago.
