I remember life before Thatcher. The Labour party was digging us out of another hole the Tories had got us into by running up the national debt again. The Tories have painted the power cuts and the 3 day week as Labour Govt issues. It was Ted Heath's govt. Rewriting history.

I know. The number of times I’ve heard people recite all this as part of a “I don’t want to go back to those labour years of the 70’s” rant. The Tory propaganda Machine and media has done an amazing job of rewriting that whole period in their favour.

Yes. Fashion may have been bad and TV celebs all paedophiles, but you could walk straight out of school and into a unionised job that would pay you enough to live on. You could get a Council flat while you saved a deposit for a house that would cost you £500.
