Am I the only one who remembers life before Margaret Thatcher? People cared about each other, we had real communities and full employment. She ruined a caring countryhttps://twitter.com/diydougie/status/1294675331467681792 …

Her administrations, from '79, broke the political consensus & promoted the ideology of the individual (not the collective, society) and so-called free markets, which led to the 1979-80 recession, mass unemployment, unregulated banking, a rentier economy. We all see the results!

Led to the 79-80 recession? Nothing to do with huge wage demands by unions then? Unregulated banking? Gordon Brown took away powers from the Bank of England on his first day in office. Rentier economy? Her policies led the charge away from high rents to home ownership.

I suggest you take a look out of your window & address the reality of Britain today. After you've done that, take courses in economics and British social & economic history for the post-second-war period, because your tweet does not reflect history or the contemporary situation.

I live the reality of Britain today and I lived through the 70s Your text books can’t teach you that. We have experienced all these changes so try listening and learning instead of book worming and preaching
