#BBCBreakfast why have a quarter of corona virus death happened in care homes? Surely these people should have gone into hospital as soon as they had symptoms. It makes no sense. Did these people really die of covid-19 or did they just die of old age?

It’s more than a quarter - and best estimates are nearer 45 to 50%. It’s because they were deliberately kept in care homes to avoid swamping hospital ITU capacity. Many had ‘Do Not Resuscitate’ forms completed so died without medical interventions. They were ‘The Expendables’

Deaths in care homes also helps the Tories with their social care funding problems. Economically inactive people are dead weight for Cummings and crew
