The main reason why home working has not taken off has been down to poor managers who don't trust their staff. One or two days a week working from home would be beneficial to all sides. Cut down office space, car parks and polluting travel.

Same with me. I didn't do it often because of working on the IT side of capital projects. The vast majority of admin staff use three or four programmes that can be run anywhere. Too many managers don't know how to manage projects or work packages.

It is the best way. Treat people like adults. Make sure everyone knows what is needed, when and for what reasons and most times it goes well. Too many managers like bossing people around because they can.
