We now know McNicol was lying through his teeth here - he and his lieutenants were holding up the AS investigations to undermine Jeremy Corbynhttps://twitter.com/AaronBastani/status/1250764480298000385 …

To be honest, it not a surprise to me that
#IainMcNicol and others actively worsened the#Antisemitism crisis. They were all part of the sabotage. What is a disappointment is that#Corbyn gifted him &#TomWatson a seat in the Lords. Poor judgement from Corbyn.3 antwoorden 2 retweets 6 vind-ik-leuks -

Corbyn is a decent man, he’s part of the machine, it’s almost as if he feels he was ‘tolerated’, as Benn was, like some novel principled man from days of yore, when the party was left leaning. People need to wake up to what

Have to have some socialists to maintain some credibility and that’s all socialists remaining in the party are giving them

Don’t necessarily agree - and where would you go if not. The Socialist Party is hardly a vehicle to achieve power and change for ordinary people. They have great members but will never get MPs let alone a government

I think a progressive alliance with the green party and possibly plaid cymru and snp would be the way forward

Agreed and whilst I accept that the current Socialist Party is not equipped, I’d imagine with 150,000 people paying £10 a month it might be able to step up a gear or two.

People like me need somewhere to go and be socialists , a progressive alliance could be the way but, our aims would have to be agreed on but, basically socialism needs its voice to be heard and represented , it is being sidelined & shut up in the Labour Party

Your suggestion around an mass movement alternative to the Socislist party is fair, but it will be as riddled with differences as Labour now. It’s just it will be differences between socialists rather than socialists and social democrats. Progressive politics needs compromise
