I must admit I don't see what's wrong with it. There may be many people with limited bodily mobility for whom a drive around for half an hour helps keep them sane and, he's not right about much but you can't catch anything alone in your car 1/2https://twitter.com/KevinPascoe/status/1243897450567516160 …
Obviously your choice and you may get fined for a non-essential journey. The risk of RTCs tying up emergency resources is also a factor. I do recognise the challenge facing those with mobility difficulties though

For now fines can only be issued where groups of people congregate in public & refuse to disperse. Presumably there will be police presence in urban areas where there might still be high volumes but I can't see resources being wasted in rural areas with little or no traffic 1/2

Are you sure on the fines? I think non-essential journeys are in the remit. The police would only get involved I suspect at sightseeing hot spots and if there was a traffic incident - the first question they’d ask is why are you driving. As I said it’s a choice - but I’m not

I agree that we all need to be sensible and careful - not just of our own health but of our neighbours, friends, family and those who serve us but I also believe we need to be vigilant about what freedoms we are pressed give up unnecessarily under the guise of 'the public good'.
