We have got to stop looking for perfect candidates all the time. Getting sick of reading stuff like this cos the left needs to solidly unite together not split hairs over how left someone may or may not be.

And that's how the right have always done well, unity. The power of the left is in its diversity, its ability to engage in debate, but that is also its weakness. The right brooks no compromise or dissent, hence unity, hence fascism. To lead with compassion takes balance.

I think the problem is that it feels like sometimes people looking for the perfect candidate but also there is too much picking apart of what someone may have said

Your latter point is fair but it’s better to do it now rather than it be exposed by the Sun or Mail later on. On the first point I really want an outstanding if not perfect candidate - not one who is just OK. Ian Lavery isn’t perfect but I would chosen him with baggage over these
