Ok so I accept both are right wing. No question there. Hall editor in chief is Tory Lord. But what evidence or examples can you identify where the above appointments have affected output. Current news head is Fran Unsworth. BBC has been criticized by Lab Con & Libs on bias.

There is far more need for academic research on bias within the BBC broadcast media and social media - an example could be the recent LSE blog. I’ve worked for a very large corporation with a global profile and the top echelons do believe their own spin https://blogs.lse.ac.uk/politicsandpolicy/bbc-election-night-and-systemic-media-bias/ …

I would be quite sure that if a man was motivated to try to identify bias. He might well find it. He might find it everywhere. Daily. In print. On TV. On the radio. His friends. His associates. Bias is natural psychology. A design.

Hence my comment on the need for academic research where they recognise their own bias - unlike BBC editors and presenters

I agree it needs to be talked about and thought about. The BBC is well placed to do all it can to hold the centre line. But it won't always keep it's many feet on this tight rope. It may sway left and right at times. The way it is.

It would be in denial, if it did not acknowledge there is an issue with trust to address. I assure you from my understanding, this is a "thing" which is acknowledged. And with work, can be addressed. What you you "really think" is acknowledged. But there is no denial.

The denial is your perception. I know that building trust and addressing bias is probably the most important thing for the future. Others do too. You perhaps are not in a position to see this. I think that's fair and reasonable appraisal. Based on my understanding.

I have worked for the BBC for nearly 20 years. We're not deaf. We're not blind. We're not stupid. We do work for standards of journalism which other's don't even contemplate. You have my personal assurance on that.
