Voter ID is a blatant attempt by the Tories to rig the result of the next general election. 3.5 million don’t have access to any photo ID. If you restrict that to passport or driving licence it’s 11 million.https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2019/10/12/voters-will-have-show-casting-ballot-prevent-electoral-fraud/ …

Why is it wrong to need ID to vote ? Do not see any problem . Need ID to buy an alcoholic drink .

Photo ID is often not available to the poorest in society i.e. no passport or driving license. This is straight out of the Bannon playbook and has been used to exclude poor voters across the USA. The electoral commission has confirmed UK voter fraud is not an issue

I have to put a lot of thought into this . Labour believe that those without ID are more likely to vote for them and like the SNP promoting votes for 16 year olds , it is politically motivated. How does a poor 19 year old buy alcohol ?

Unlike when voting they don’t need govt issued ID to buy alcohol - they can use a PASS card issued by the drinks industry that is not acceptable for voting purposes
