The point I’m making all loose surface rallies have to do it, so not a particular cost for the GB only.

Thanks Meurig. I think the excuse part is key. I’m really not trying to be hyper critical but whoever leads in the spectator experience isn’t doing their job. As an aside is Rally GB a limited company? It would be interesting to look at the accounts. I will have a dig around

I thought the costs associated with running the rally (roads & service etc) were all factored into the costs charged by the FIA/MSUK to entrants. Ticket costs go into the companies accounts. If the costs aren’t factored into entry 1) why is it so high 2) wheres the money going?

I’m trying to follow the money but it’s not easy. International Motor Sports operates Rally GB, the British F1 GP and MSA Championship on behalf of the MSA. So pretty murky

Welsh Government are putting in over a million pound a year into Rally GB so perhaps all Welsh people should have reduced price tickets. Seems fair to me

That can’t be right! Losing 250k a year when WRPass is over £100. F1 weekend tickets are close to £500, lowest entry for it is £185 x 351k people attending this years GP = £65,935,000! Where’s all that going!? That’s just ticket sales alone

I think (but don’t know) the ticket sales for F1 are held by the host venue - as they pay the F1 organisers £26 million a year for the honour of hosting it alone

This is true, it’s the BDRC iirc, they pay F1 the fee so Motorsport uk must be the regulator for the weekend, but £3mill turnover for rally wales gb sounds low to me?
