Isn’t that the same as the Left have done by cultivating the Corbyn myth, referring to him as Jeremy?

Not really. The Left (whoever you mean by that) may call him Jeremy, but the print and broadcast media consistently call him Corbyn, while referring to others, not just Johnson, by their first names or Mr or Mrs.

Calling someone by their last name is indeed seen as disrespectful in most places apart from public schools but the Left by whom I mean the Labour Party and Socialists of varying hues have spoken of “Jeremy” to promote him as a kindly uncle figure which he most definitely isn’t.

So you have Corbyn referred to as "Jeremy" by supporters / "Corbyn by media, then you have Johnson referred to as "Boris" by supporters / "Boris" by the media. You see the difference?

Well said Gareth - a Fleet Street reporter was upset when I said she was doing this. Subconscious bias is the most generous take on it - however with many it’s editorial guidance from the top

Yes Kevin, when you look at who is at the top of these media organisations, the latter is the most likely explanation.

So who do you see as the malign influence at the top of the BBC?

Where do I begin. Tony Hall sold the BBC’s soul for a license fee increase and abolished the BBC Council in 2017 to reduce public accountability. Then there’s former BBC News Director Robbie Gibb (who went to work at No.10) and his predecessor ex-Murdoch Editor James Harding..

So you are saying the BBC are anti-Corbyn when virtually all the guests on QT and paper reviews are Left-leaning. I don’t think so. Socialists are invited onto Sky’s paper reviews but at least they balance them with someone from the opposite side of the political spectrum.
