I would say we should have gone with what Lsbour wanted. A pragmatic approach that respected the referendum whist having the softest possible Brexit - SM, a CU and max. alignment. It’s a shame ultra-FBPEs wanted it their way on no way. Hence we are now on the edge of a precipice

How can that be a solution? That ship has sailed. Even Theresa May's deal with the EU - "Hard Brexit" - was roundly rejected by most brexiters and we are still only in the EU because Brexit MPs rejected it. The vast majority of people who support Brexit support

I’m pointing out the error of FBPE ultra ways. Pragmatism earlier in the process could have avoided this. You are reaping what you sowed

What could that have avoided? FBPE had no say in the Brexit negotiations, and neither did Labour. Millions like me would have put up with a soft brexit. It was never on the table. Today, even May's Brexit is too soft for Brexiters. We either

Andy I think our positions are closer than I thought based on your first response. Revocation may be a necessary short term measure, but it shouldn’t permanently stop Brexit. I agree no Brexit is very serious - albeit we would survive but with massive harm to our most vulnerable

So could we stretch to agreeing too - just for a short window during this moment of historic danger - that *all* the progressive parties should quit sniping at each other and get together and do whatever it takes to steer the country away from catastrophe?

Agreed. None of us sSnt yo wreck the country. From a practical party politics point of view, allying with Watson was the worst thing to do. He is loathed generally within the party and people who would agree with a reasonable stance on cooperation are alienated by his involvement

Ok, I hear you, but we are where we are. My plea to you and everyone in every party is this: Let's put enmities aside for a historic moment. We must unite as the broadest church ever against a right wing coup on the threshold of pitching this country into a very dark place.

Great! Last thing. See what you think: Why don't you and I write a joint message calling on all the parties to "do whatever it takes"? Let's see who we can bring with us? Or you write something to your followers and I'll RT to mine? Small moves to change the tone of debate?
