I'm still doing a couple of days a week post retirement but not having to travel into work really is a massive improvement for me. Totally agree.

I’m still dabbling with a few things but the pressure is off in terms of regular commuting in awful weather. I do wonder how much commuting is really necessary these days if employers had more progressive home working / flexible working policies

As an IT bloke, I tried many times to get working from home on the agenda. Cuts down on travel and therefore car parking requirements and office space. Lack of trust seems to be the issue for some people but it is very simple to manage. Many IT companies don't bother with offices

Trust is the key issue amongst certain managers. I suspect many of these sceptical managers took advantage of systems in the past and they suspect other people are as untrustworthy as them! Joking aside it’s all about managing by results and not attendance
