I’m a governor at two schools - and cuts are hurting - but you can’t operate without a supply budget. I’ve spent 20 years fighting for better school funding, so not critical of the school or head. It’s just a very odd statement

I agree, with you. To be honest, I know schools have had their budgets slashed, but an awful lot of them could make some sensible changes to their practices. 1/3

One example the obsession with printing out work sheets and photocopies and then having someone neatly trim them and glue them into books is hugely wasteful of paper, glue, time and hence money. This is generally done to please Ofsted. 2/3
