I was on of a full platform of commuters who witnessed a near miss several years ago at Edmonton Green station. Lines need to shut down - even if only for a matter of minutes - if workers are on on next to tracks.

Agreed this is usually the case something has gone wrong here

Terrible. HSE has/ had its problems. Crown Censure I believe and ACExecutive left. Worrying.

HSE aren’t the regulators for railways it’s ORR.

1/ Dreadful news. Around 2010 Cameron wrote a page in one of the Sunday "broadsheets." He planned to pressurise the EU to exempt he UK from EU employment laws. He planned to reduce worker protection by ending "restrictive, uncompetitive, expensive, H&S laws."
-
2/ He also planned to abolish "restrictive work/time directives." To apply this pressure on the EU he threatened to hold a referendum on membership. And the rest is history. I think it was in the Sunday Times but I've subsequently lost the copy moving house.
