I think the main lesson of the Lucas plan whose architects were sacked is that in order to carry it out we need labour leaders who are prepared to challenge private ownership and the market system altogether. Can't plan what we don't control, can't control what we don't own

Have you not seen our manifesto commitment to renationalise power, water and railways? The devolved administrations only has limited powers and resources to nationalise - plus they are governed by the constraints of EU State Aid rules

Thanks Mark - I was aware of the Deutsche Bahn link. I’m pro-nationalisation in public services but accept the public/private JV that is TFW was the best that could be done with limited powers / resources.
