I don’t think we should nationalise Ford. That presupposes the global car industry is in a) good health (it isn’t); b) our state can run something like ford (Airport, anyone); and c) there aren’t better options for us (eg coops)

I agree with you, Kevin. However, we are at a turning point. We’ve had a minister (correctly imo) question the validity of economic orthodoxy. Are those thoughts really taking root? If not, then we will reap what we sow. Fearful communities blaming others.

Do you really think nationalisation can work in a single plant of a globally interlinked supply chain - with multiple plants producing the same engines globally? We are all frustrated but we need realism rather playing to the gallery and giving false hope
