Some would argue that it’s saved F1 as a sport. Nearly all top level sport is now about business and it’s how we make that work for the grass roots that matters. There is absolutely nothing wrong with good business

Big money, modern crap circuits, empty stands. Europe & the Americas tend to sell out. I’ve been to Yas Marina, great circuit, no atmosphere. Montmeló in Barcelona, less swish but feels like a race meet, able to walk around the circuit & mingle.

Fair point Meurig. But at the moment there’s a reasonable compromise between sport and business. The new WRC promoter thinks the F1 business model is the answer - in my view it’s not as F1 has been ruined as a spectacle that I used to enjoy

What you mean like Mickey Mouse street stages & stages round ‘race tracks’ for spectators. Rallying is all about special stages in a forest & the characters you meet in the middle of a welsh forest in the middle of a night
