Policy idea - quantitive easing, but instead of feeding it to the banks, make phased cancellations of student debt. It would have a gradual controllable boost to the economy and fix the unfairness, particularly of young people singled out for lifelong debt in the last decade
I’d agree if student loans had been a genuine choice by these people - I think this one is a good starting point for Labour alongside a raft of other measures needed for a fairer society - ie child poverty, the low paid, disabled, WASPI, etc
