Big pharmaceutical industry is a criminal cabal. They admit themselves that it is not economically viable to cure people. They want to create and manage illness. Austerity is a well thought out plan, it creates fear, anxiety, depression. Solution- psychoactive medications. PROFIT

The problem is the ethos of profit first, second and third. If profit were measured in lives saved there are plenty of remedies available but they are cheap and the profits negligible. A remedy for Alzheimer's exists but will remain undeveloped as unprofitable

Absolutely, we should be making our own drugs. Pharma charges the NHS a fortune up to £1k for a month’s supply of a drug you can get in Mexico for a fiver.

This approach did cross my mind. It’s a double edged sword but I believe the answer needs to be a joint effort as uncomfortable as that sounds. If it’s gov owned it’s a bottomless hole of cash to produce something which may only be marginally more effective than what we have. 1/2

The unacceptable face of capitalism - look at the NHS and those with cystic fibrosis being blackmailed by Vertex. They want ridiculous prices for drugs and threaten people’s lives to get their profits
