Indeed. The core issue for me was the UC equality impact assessment - was any thought given to vulnerable claimants and the impact of the loan and sanction regime on mental health

Probably not. The impulse behind the ‘regime’ strikes me as largely punitive but I’m no expert having had no contact with it myself.

I’ve haven’t but have spoken to those on the receiving end - as you say it’s focus appears to be punishment. Sadly it could have improved our benefits system massively - but as usual penny pinching and a punishment ethos stopped it
