‘Talks over radical overhaul of Welsh regional rugby’ - I won’t be shedding too many tears for them after their collective action to close down the Celtic Warriors and steal the team from so many rugby fans http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/47368262 …

As a Scarlets fan, I was sorry to see the Warriors go, Cardiff & Newport should have merged at the time. The wrong region was thrown, I recall that they were the best at the time?

All the four regions paid £312,500 each to shut them down. A top team who had Ryan Jones, Neil Jenkins, Gareth Cooper, Gethin Jenkins, Rob Sidoli, Brent Cockbain, Ian Evans, Silo Martens and Mama Molitika. I’m still bitter as you may have gathered and still have the shirt!

I’d forgotten half those. Thanks. The WRU must do something to sort out Welsh regional rugby - it’s dire. It should have been franchises in the WRU’s control. Whatever happens no one will upset Cardiff’s position - others will take the pain. North Wales needs inclusion though

The WRU dropped a big one taking it off live terrestrial TV this season - no one would pay extra to watch them play
