I've been speaking up for the WASPI women who've been left vulnerable to financial hardship as their state pensions have been delayed. The Government's suggestion that these women retrain as apprentices was absolutely outrageous.pic.twitter.com/MCqdcj1ErL

Its not going anywhere for a number of reasons . Failure to understand the development of Pensions and National Insurance in the UK is one . Tactical error of campaigning to return to 60 which was never going to happen..Should have concentrated on speed to 65/66.

And no one ever asks why the decision was made that women should retire at 60 in 1940 when most women hadn't worked or paid NI. It was designed to increase the income of married couples . My mother's pension was based on my father's NI. My father was 5 yrs older than my mother .

They've also been strung along by politicians who after all voted for the changes or did nothing to mitigate the effect of the changes. Easy to be sympathetic when decision is not your responsibility and make speeches . Much harder to be straight with people .
